Announcements:  Thank you to Richard Bennett for hosting a Gift Of Life candidate; surgery last Friday went well for 32-year-old Jimmy at Valley Hospital. Jim Cole, John Johnson and Charlotte B-S are helping with transportation.
 
District meeting this week focused on youth service/Interact.

Phil Ball suggested a group dinner at Marchi’s restaurant (East 31st Street, NYC).  great restaurant, lovely garden.  Show of hands – Phil will follow up.
 
Friendship Dinner Cruise on 11/1 (UN Day)

Ladies Night Out – Sept. 18 – Englewood Chamber event from 5-9, starting at Bergen PAC.
The Faith Space Peace Project will have a photo exhibit at Bergen Community College beginning Sept. 21.

Joyce Dudley and Steve Wiesner let a discussion to revisit our Club’s Strategic Plan.  The overarching objective is to engage members.  Discussion focused on 1) Does the club want a signature project and 2) What is most important for the Club to focus on this year?
 
Joyce and Steve reviewed our vision statement and goals – consensus is that they are still relevant
NOTE:  Norman is going to send a copy of the Strategic Plan with this Spoke.
 
Comments included “the signature project reflects our leadership, which varies from year to year.” 
“Public Relations and Marketing are important for this year.  We do a lot but nobody knows about it.”
 
Attendance:   29 + 1 guest = 43%
