Englewood NJ DPW Director, Jim Koth, gave a presentation on  Englewood's Department of Public Works, and it's future plans.

The 2014 Conference was held on board Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas during it's cruise to Bermuda in April. It was attended by Aleta Frezzell, Barry Lowe, Jennie Katsaros, John Devol, Joan Van Alstyne Johnson and husband Ron, and Eileen O'Driscoll.

Our Installation Dinner will be at 6 PM on June 24 at George Milne's house, 110 Summit St, Englewood. The cost will be $45 a person.

The District 7490 Presidents Ball will take place at Seasons, 644 Pascack Road, Washington Twp, on Thursday, April 17, at 6 PM.  The cost is $95 per person.  Black tie optional.  There will be an elegant cocktail buffet, full dinner, and dancing to live music.  Our President, Ikuyo Yanagisawa, will be honored.

Today's guest speaker, Jim Boyer, Youth Services Director.

Jim, as Youth Services Director, gave us an in depth presentation on Rotary Youth Services which includes Interact, RYLA, Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotoract Club, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Thank You Jim! 

Richard Bennett introduced the Gift of Life recipient Jimmy Dorme. Jmmy thanked Richard for hosting him and Rotary for sponsoring his surgery. He received successful heart surgery at Valley Hospital from Dr. Brizzio, a surgeon that performs operations for Gift of Life recipients.  Richard mentioned that Jimmy is from Port au Prince Haiti, and that he works at the City Soleil Health Clinic working with people in the area of health, microlending, and trade school initiatives.

On Friday evening, Englewood Rotarian, Joan Van Alstyne Johnson and husband Ron, hosted a dinner for their visiting Rotary Friendship Exchange guests, Janelle Harvey and husband Tom. President Aleta Frezzell and Eileen O'Driscoll attended.

Before dinner we exchanged banners and they shared some of the things their club is doing and asked questions about what we are doing here on the East Coast.

2014 - 2015 District Governor Calisto Bertin's Installation & Banner Exchange

Englewood NJ Rotarians, Susie Schneider, Joyce Grossbard, Ikuyo Yanigasawa and John Devol and 2014-2015 President Aleta Frezzell attended the Installation Dinner for District Governor Calisto Bertin at Biaggios, Paramus. A great evening was had by all. With them were District Chief of Staff Jim Boyer and PDG Raj Bhatia.

This year's awardees are Florence Marchi, Joseph Klyde, and Kenneth Schwinn.  They all joined our Club after the closing of the Englewood Cliffs Rotary Club and have made numerous valuable contributions to our activities.  Ken is now retired and has moved away but will return for this event.
